Raiffeisen Bank International AG (RBI) is in Austria a leading corporate and investment bank and in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) a universal bank. In total, around 52,700 employees service 14.8 million customers through approximately 2,780 business outlets, the great majority of which are located in CEE.

RBI wanted to increase the service- and process-orientation in Business Analysis, as well as the alignment to other management approaches, like project management and process management. As a result, RBI defined their business analysis approach as a set of services and sub-processes in a business analysis framework with the following goals:

• Differentiation in business analysis services requiring different organizational and personnel assets & assignments
• Standardization of Business Analysis deliverables
• Defining business analysis sub-processes (e.g. steps in how to drive a pre-study / project evaluation)
• Standing & marketing of the business analysis services within RBI
• Relationship and distinction to other roles within RBI (e.g. architecture, development)
