The Internet of Things and the Interconnected Business World

This presentation will cover an overview of the Internet of Things it's major components and expected growth. The 4 sub categories of personal (wearables), group (car, home), Industrial (M2M) and community (smart city) will be discussed. After this foundation the presentation will cover Big data and the Internet of Things topical areas such as datastream or edge analysis and how this new wave of analytics can support an increased awareness for the business in terms of customers, partners and employees. The Internet of Things will become core to business strategies.

Justin Simonds is a Master Technologist for the Americans Enterprise Solutions and Architecture group (ESA), a member of the HP IT Transformation SWAT team.. His focus is on real-time, event-driven architectures, business intelligence for major accounts and business development. Most recently he has been involved with architecting a real-time hub/Data Analytic system for advanced customer analytics. He is involved with HP Labs on several pilot projects. He has worked on cloud initiatives and integration architectures for improving the reliability of cloud offerings. He has been working with partners on the Internet of Things and datastream analytics. He has been published in Connection magazine. He is a featured speaker at HP’s Technology Forum and at HP’s Executive Briefing Center and at industry conferences such as the XLDB Conference at Stanford and the Metropolitan Solutions Conference.
