Deep Insight of the Business Model Leads to a New Strategy
Presented by: Yoshio Tozawa
We report the case in which the business analysis activities impact a lot to the company (INQUVEX), consulting firm that support owners of medium and small enterprises to enter newly into the visiting care business in Japan. The business model is superficially simple. It is to get the initial commission and monthly charge from a client who wants to be an owner of visiting care station. The consulting business of visiting care station start-up has been so good. The INQUVEX president, however, finds that some owners of the stations tend to suspend monthly consulting charge after the station got well on the right lines. This “graduation” problem should be solved. We analyzed the business using BACCM, clarifying who are stakeholders, what values are created, how cashes flow, what legislation to obey, and so on. This activity resulted in the new business model of INQUVEX, which includes the customer’s customer, users (patients) of a visiting care station. Quality of the nurse services is critical in order to sustain the station. High quality of the services are provided by those nurses who are satisfied with the rewarding job. The new strategy of INQUVEX is deeply considered to provide management support services which help an owner of the visiting care station to sustain and increase the business. The strategy makes the use of strength of INQUVEX capabilities. Along with the strategy we have provided INQUVEX with so many insights of the business. Audience will learn how BA succeeds from this case.
