How Improving the BA Practice Increased the Value Delivered at Walmart
Presented by: Laura Maqueda, Federico Garcia
In this session we will review the journey that we went through to professionalize the BA practice in different countries, how we moved from chaos (by wearing multiple hats at the same time and working in too many activities simultaneously) to more organized ways of working (by following IIBA® guidelines which helped us identify the activities that bring value to stakeholders). We achieved this by creating a global BA community of practice to share knowledge, experience, strengthen internal/external networking and applying a common training to develop our BA capacity in all countries. We were able to reduce the time spent in analysis in about 45% by professionalizing the BA role which resulted in increased stakeholder satisfaction and improved collaboration.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn that professionalizing the BA role will result in increased stakeholder satisfaction
- Understand the value of BA specialization as a mean to self-motivation
- Demonstrate the impact of global visibility to raise interest
