At Kaiser Permanente, we are re-imagining the patient experience by pioneering techniques using ODM that correlate the detection capabilities of Social Media and Watson services, with empirical medical events channeled through our IBM SOA. Our collaborative journey with IBM and their Decision Management and Cognitive platform blends use cases including the following: hospital operations with rules to manage resources intelligently; clinical decision support to provide physicians with timely and useful information to deliver improved care; and, epidemic management including prediction of admission spikes, personalized alerts and geographic contingency plans using IBM BPM process in the event of outbreaks or emergencies. Our usage also includes Watson to make sense of unstructured data in real time. We will explore and simulate demos using ODM and Watson during the session.
