Elicitation Simulator - Extracting More Information From Elicitation Sessions

According to extensive industry research, one of the most significant reasons 70% of IT projects fail globally is: poor quality requirements. There is a strong correlation between efficacy of requirements elicitation activities and quality of documented requirements. Yet, most BAs work with a limited tool kit of elicitation techniques and best practices.

The goal of this workshop is to enhance participants' ability to extract more information from elicitation sessions and improve stakeholder relationships. A software Simulation will be employed to baseline relevant elicitation skills. Subsequently, 'questioning' techniques- to assist stakeholders discover and communicate desired information- will be introduced. The participants will then get the opportunity to revisit the simulated elicitation session in order to implement the techniques. At the end of the second attempt, the participants will be able to determine how their ability to extract information has improved. Finally, the facilitator will walk the participants through the ideal elicitation path in the Simulation to reinforce learning.

It is advisable to bring an internet-enabled laptop, tablet or smartphone to experience the Simulation. Participants will have access to the Simulation for the entire duration of BBC conference.
