Analytics of Organizational Wargaming
Presented by: Kathleen Walsh, Radhika Patel
Often organizations, including the DoD US ARMY Armament Research, Development, and Engineering Center (ARDEC), have their processes well documented, but the data exchanges and communication points are not well defined or even understood. Organizations allocate resources to mapping their information technology infrastructure but overlook the need to do that same for business interfaces that happen outside the IT realm. A journey was taken to bring Business Architecture into ARDEC and the first part of the presentation overviews a case study on the second and third level capability mapping of one of ARDEC’s capabilities; Systems Engineering. The ARDEC team will host a presentation modeled after traditional army wargaming to walk through the use of this capability map in order to address organizational challenges. The goal of this presentation is to show the usage and value of Business Architecture artifacts, such as capability maps and the organizational model, to make data-driven strategic decisions.
Learning Objectives:
- Data-Driven Strategic Decisions
- Leveraging the Business Capability Map
- Role of Business Architecture in Strategic Development
