Building a Culture of Continuous Improvement

The employees at Santee Cooper have been working to find new and innovative ways to improve our business practices for 75 years. However, increased competition and our changing industry environment creates the need to do more. In 2014, we began building a Continuous Improvement program. This presentation will share with the audience some of our experiences and lessons learned along the way.

Amanda Dietz is the Vice President &emdash; Solution Integration and Customer Experience Practice Leader for Orion Development Group. Ms. Dietz joined Orion Development Group in June 1997 and is a shareholder and partner. She has more than 20 years of experience in operations management, auditing and process improvement.
As a trainer and consultant, Ms. Dietz is able to leverage her diverse expertise and strategic outlook to help clients achieve meaningful process improvements and business results.
Prior to joining Orion, Ms. Dietz attained extensive quality and process experience in the corporate world, principally in the financial services sector. She served on the senior management teams at InTuition, Inc. and Florida Federal Savings Bank (now part of First Union National Bank).
Ms. Dietz' most recent engagement involved project management for a Continuous Improvement-based culture change initiative at Santee Cooper, an electric utility. This multi-year initiative is delivering ongoing ROI via process improvement projects while creating an organization-wide culture of employee engagement.
