Presented by: Joy Beatty

As technology advances, our day-to-day lives become automated and often better because information is more easily accessible, predictable, and precise. We all reap the benefits of smartphones and various other automated systems. But those same technology advances also mean that our professional roles are changing.

We see more companies using analytics and artificial intelligence. More than ever, non-technology companies are deploying technologies because their customers demand it. Organizations are adopting agile practices because they know their customers' demands are changing rapidly.

With all these advancements, we anticipate that computers will start to automate much of what we do in business analysis. Everything from elicitation to specification to review will inevitably become automated. Given that, in this talk, Joy Beatty hopes to inspire business analysts to plan for how they can still be relevant in 20 years.

She'll take the audience on a rapid flashback of business analysis evolution and then fast forward over the next few years. Next we’ll journey ahead 20 years for a look at what purpose we fulfill in the business analysis realm…. if any.

Key Take-aways

  • Awareness of the changing BA professional life
