How Data Science is Actually Transforming a Business

The amount of data is growing exponentially. The rise of computing power has enabled the field of data science to execute advanced data analysis at scale. Data is the new oil and data scientists have sexiest job of the 21th century. That much for hype.
In this presentation, Tim Faber (product owner data science) will share with you some real-life experiences with the application of data science. The Sociale Verzekeringsbank (Social Security's Bank) in the Netherlands started about 2 years ago setting up a couple of data science pilots, to see what it could bring to the business. Within a couple of months everyone was convinced, but then the real challenge begun.
This is a down-to-earth talk about the challenge to find the right business problems / opportunities, translate those into data science solutions and build the right team to deliver those insights that help organisations work smarter and become more customer-centric.

Tim is a passionate product owner of data science. He has been involved with multiple pilots and setting up a data science lab for the Sociale Verzekeringsbank (Social Security's Bank) in the Netherlands. As a product owner, it's his job to convey the new possibilities that data science enables and to translate that into strategic use cases. He oversees multiple data science teams, that perform analysis and deliver insights with the potential to transform the business.
