The Role of Business Analyst in DevOps Transformation

Today, software development is performed in fast-changing environments in order to meet shifting customer requirements with the added pressure of shorter time to market. To bridge the gap; agile practices have been developed and resolved some of the issues encountered. However recently it has been discussed that adopting agile practices is not enough to address these needs. To move forwards, an extension of agile thinking -DevOps- has emerged that will be a cross-disciplinary community of practice dedicated to the study of building, evolving and operating rapidly-changing systems at scale.
This presentation explains the business analyst role when an organisation decides to shift DevOps methodology by focusing on our organisation's DevOps transformation.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems Department of Boğaziçi University as an honour student. I possess a Master’s degree from Computational Science and Engineering program in Informatics Institute of Istanbul Technical University. In 2016, I have started to study in PhD program of Boğaziçi University, Management Information Systems Department. In 2009, I have begun to work as a business analyst in Sony Eurasia. After involvement in many platforms and projects for business analysis activities; In 2016, I was promoted to principal business analyst and took the responsibility of Business Analysis Competency Lead of Sony Istanbul Team. The most appealing part of this role is to be responsible to research and contribute more on our domain. In September 2016, I have earned CBAP.
