A large-scale business-systems implementation brings its own challenges and pain points to the organization, such as uncertainty over the return on investment, change management and new business process adoption. This is exacerbated, if you are having a subsidiary model, where each of those geographies are run as an independent enterprise and have a long history in managing their own operations to suit the unique needs of those markets. The purpose of our case study is to provide an overview of the Implementation Management Framework, used to manage a large scale implementation/ business transformation at Ford Motor Company, spanning multiple geographies and multiple markets in each of those geographies.

The framework provides a template to approach a large scale business transformation from three dimensions, Business Process Alignment, Program Management and Organizational Change Management. The framework provides techniques to improve implementation velocity, assign ownership/gain commitment at different levels of the organization, while reducing duplication of implementation efforts.
