Proven Techniques to Improve Stakeholder Communication

Using the 3 C’s of communication has proven (real examples) to improve communication and save company's money from lost productivity, stress, and reduced opportunities to innovate. The 3 C's is a disciplined, data-driven approach for eliminating miscommunication. This presentation will demonstrate how to use the 3 C's in conjunction with the '9 conversations', along with knowledge of communication issues among generations to improve project and organizational communications. Projects can become more successful specifically in how we manage stakeholder engagement as well as communication within the team itself. Project success drives organizational success. Learn how the BA and the Project Manager work together to create and manage the stakeholder engagement matrix.

Jeffrey Brewer
Professor
Purdue University
Professor Brewer is an associate professor in the Computer and Information Technology department at Purdue University. He is also the co-director of the department's professional MS degree programs in project management and business analysis. Professor Brewer teaches courses and conducts applied research in the areas of project management, telecare/telemedicine technologies, and systems analysis and design. He is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute. Before joining the faculty at Purdue, he spent 20 years in industry as an IT project manager and just before returning to Purdue, as a chief information officer. He worked in various industries including: defense, specialty chemicals, and discreet manufacturing. Professor Brewer's other research interests are in computer-aided software engineering and agile systems development methodologies. In addition to teaching, he continues to maintain an active consulting practice with various different industry environments, including specialty retail, manufacturing, and medical association management. He spent most of those 20 years in a project manager role.
