Creative and Practical Approaches to Effective BA Techniques

IIBA’s BABOK® provides 50 techniques as tools for business analysts to have at their hands to walk the gauntlet of challenges they will face as they lead the charge to provide business value to an organization. Reading how to do something is one thing but learning how to do it, applying it and then building upon your own skill set is a completely other side of the equation of these useful techniques.
This tutorial session will focus on student participation and hands-on practice of using a select number of the techniques directly from the BABOK in new and innovative ways. In addition, the factors for how you assess when to utilize a particular technique, what elements you can shape to the current situation and also how to include your own personal style into the appropriate application that leads to successful outcomes will be emphasized as core takeaways of the session.
In this unique and interactive session, attendees will be walked through a set of the most useful techniques, their purpose and advantages, highlighting example scenarios where they may be most effective. Each chosen technique will be illustrated with examples that will help each attendee to grasp that concept and application as well as the factors to help attendees apply the technique to their own initiatives. Feedback from both the facilitator and the fellow participants will help attendees to immediately apply these techniques to their work and even daily lives.
Within the session, attendees should grasp an understanding of the techniques and tools with a comfort level that they can take back to their own teams and share the knowledge for even greater growth and bigger outcomes wherever their work may take them.
