Presented by: Jamie Champagne

You’ve seen and learned the value a business analyst can provide a team, an organization and even the community.  And now you want to leverage this value for your own organization to create better business outcomes.  But where do you start?  What do you consider?  Is there an enterprise business analysis department (and how would you ever justify this?!?)?  Or is the business analysis expertise spread throughout the business?  Who do they report to?  How would you define it?

In this session we will start at the beginning with the key considerations of both the skill set and practice of the profession of business analysis.  From there we will walk through the value business analysis provides at a team level (both project and functional-based), department level and enterprise level discussing the advantages and challenges.  And then discuss the support structure and key requirements for not only starting but also supporting and continuing a long-lasting value added component to the organization.   Discussion will span conservative to radical approaches to business analysis and include discussion of agile and business transformation efforts on your business analysis structure.  Come join us as we collaborate on this great discussion of business analysis in today’s changing world!

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify structures of business analysis in an organization
  • Understand the advantages and challenges of different business analysis structures in an organization
  • Identify a key checklist of considerations for building up the business analysis footprint in an organization
