Cybersecurity Challenges & Opportunities for Business Analysts

Presented by: Alain Arseneault, Andy Chen

Businesses worldwide face an ever-evolving cyber threat that many feel are ill-equipped to manage. Data breaches at corporations, educational institutions and government agencies continue to erode public confidence in the state of cybersecurity. The emergence of consumer goods such as wearable devices and self-driving cars, alongside the increasing connectivity of the systems managing critical infrastructure such as power plants and traffic signals are creating new threats to public safety, privacy, and economic stability.

This presentation will examine the recent findings of the cyber security workforce study conducted by the Center for Cyber Safety and Education in partnership with (ISC)2 , Booz Allen Hamilton, Alta Associates and Frost & Sullivan. This study examined the current state of response to the developing cyber security risks in the 2017 Global Information Security Workforce. The presentation will highlight the top organizational concerns identified and discuss the implications of the fact that two thirds of organizations indicated that there are not enough cybersecurity workers in their organizations to meet the challenges which they currently face.

This year's Study reveals important opportunities for business analysts, especially since we are on pace to reach a cybersecurity workforce gap of 1.8 million by 2022, a 20% increase over the forecast made in the 2015. Join us to explore these critical strategic trends and gain some insights into how business analysts are responding to these challenges and how they are helping organizations to combat the risks in today's ever evolving threat environment.
