Digital Architecture in the Fast Lane
Presented by: Michael Rosen
Architecture is a critical enabler of digital transformation (DX), flexibility, stability, performance, operational excellence, and business success. However, in the past, architecture has struggled to keep up with the pace of business and often failed to deliver on its promise. In many organizations, life in the fast lane is making this problem worse, not better.
The new world is dynamic, decentralized, data driven, automated, and self-learning. A decentralized architecture, supporting, real-time and near-real-time engagements, ecosystem awareness, augmented decision making, automated and connected products, that enables rapid product evolution and new service introduction is needed. New realities require new architecture!
The name of the game in DX architecture is flexibility, speed, and distributed autonomy. But, at the same time, not at the cost of consistency and sustainability. Instead, it needs to be guided by a set of principles that make sense in the new world of DX. In this session we turn the common expression 'think globally, act locally' on its head: "Think locally, act globally" - to emphasize architecture with less hierarchy and more coordinated empowerment.
Learning Objectives:
- The dramatic changes required to architect for digital transformation
- Enterprise principles for balancing consistency and autonomy
- Architecting for flexibility and change
- Think globally, act locally
