BBC Interview Series: David Goldstein at RuleAgents, Inc.

In anticipation of his presentation at Building Business Capability in Las Vegas, Nov. 2 – 6, 2015, we asked David Goldstein, Lead Consultant at RuleAgents, Inc., a few questions about pursuing business excellence. Check out his interview in relation to his BBC presentation entitled Managing Risk and Reward by Reducing Time to Market via Reduced Testing.

Q: How is your organization advancing the pursuit of business excellence and how does it impact your business units/departments?

A: We are always looking at ways to improve business agility to reduce time to market. We have developed a collection of tools to foster continuous integration, complex build management and rapid deployment to foster our Business Rules and Business Process Management methods.

Q: Can you describe the challenges you face or have already overcome in establishing a more cohesive and productive company or organization?

A:  We are always looking at ways to improve agility.  For example, we have developed a new collection of API’s to enable developing business processes at the highest levels of business-enabled coding, masking virtually all implementation details.

Q: What are your near term goals for creating a more agile organization at your business or company?

A: True continuous integration.

Q: What’s the latest method/process/tool you have implemented to help your organization or business run more efficiently and effectively?

A:  We have an entire stack of tools that foster maven and git-based agile development.

Q: Sneak preview: Please tell us a take-away that you will provide during your talk at Building Business Capability?

A:  Our talk discusses how different types of testing have different value to the product produced.  If the value of the testing isn’t high enough, why do it?  And if more testing produces more business value than it costs, then we better do it!
