BBC Interview Series: Phil Bristol of Projectivity Solutions

August 19, 2015 | BBC Interview Series

In anticipation of his co-presentation at Building Business Capability in Vegas, Nov. 2 – 6, 2015, we asked Phil Bristol, Managing Principal at Projectivity Solutions, a few questions about pursuing business excellence. Check out his interview in relation to his BBC co-presentation entitled, Up your Relationship Needle:  How to Work with the “Crazy-Makers.”

Q: How is your organization advancing the pursuit of business excellence and how does it impact your business units/departments?

A: Projectivity Solutions helps a leader to build a collaborative culture. Knowing and using the best technique related skills will help deliver capabilities that add to organizational results. WE go beyond these skills; we help leaders discover how to hold every person in positive regard, find a team’s positive potential, core strengths and passionate calling.

Q: Can you describe the challenges you face or have already overcome in establishing a more cohesive and productive company or organization?

A: The cost of disengagement – lack of commitment. Many teams and organizations fail to become trusted partners with the business, even when team members have top-tier technical talent. Transforming a culture from compliant behaviors to passionate commitment is THE biggest challenge.

Q: What are your near term goals for creating a more agile organization at your business or company?

A: Our purpose is to inspire leaders – individuals who motivate, inspire and influence others to collaboratively produce results for the greater good.

Q: What’s the most valuable thing you’ve learned in 2015 thus far? What’s the most important goal/trend for [pick one or two: business analysts, business architects, business process managers and/or business rules managers] to keep in mind?

A: Teams that “Play-Nice-in-the-Sandbox” have more fun, produce quality results on time, become a magnet for the best talent… in short, they consistently deliver value to the customer.

Q: What’s the latest method/process/tool you have implemented to help your organization or business run more efficiently and effectively?

A: The ability to conduct Forward-Leaning conversations and use Emotional Intelligence, Communication flexibility, and Outward facing leadership as a foundation to create collaborative and co-producing teams.

Q: If you could give your five-years-ago self-insight and advice about this industry, what would you say?

A: With mastery of WHAT you know and do, it is important to establish professional credibility; the HOW, knowing your Way-of-Being, your emotions, how you think of others, and how you treat others distinguishes you a as a leader.

Q: Sneak preview: Please tell us a take-away that you will provide during your talk at Building Business Capability?

A: Join us and learn the two frameworks for understanding team behavior and the three mindsets that makes the difference between failure and success. Discover a path on HOW to create a collaborative team culture.
