• How is your presentation relevant to the theme of this year’s BBC conference: Innovation in the Fast Lane?

Innovation cannot be an area that is hoped for in a company – it really needs to be a part of the culture. My presentation discusses real-world examples of how to incorporate innovation into a company’s culture while playing in the normal agile processes.

• What are your top tips for companies or employees wishing to innovate?

If innovation is a priority in the company, treat it that way. Executives cannot simply hope that teams are innovating when they do not embed the concept in their culture. If innovation is important, build your processes around it to see the impactful results! Executive support is key! Being afraid to fail also hinders innovation. There is the risk that the idea will not work, but that is a part of the innovation process.
