• How is your presentation relevant to the theme of this year’s BBC conference: Innovation in the Fast Lane?

Innovation requires us to think differently and open our minds to new possibilities. Mindfulness enables us to let go of limiting perspectives and judgements to free our minds and think creatively. We can see challenges with clarity allowing deeper levels of understanding and to develop new insights. Combined with the agile mindset of trust, transparency, and collaboration, as well as the ability to try new things and be safe to fail, mindfulness truly enables innovation in the fast lane.

• What are your top tips for companies or employees wishing to innovate?

1. Allow time and space for people to clear their minds, become aware and open to novel ways of looking at problems, through mindfulness.
2. Allow room for exploration and experimentation without tight constraints of time and money.
3. Allow teams autonomy to try out new ideas without any fear of failure.
